Here is my Archos 70 Internet Tablet 250GB, showing my main desktop. I have five desktops using Launcher. I think I can have up to seven desktops if I use a different launcher.

Finally got my Archos 70 Internet Tablet 250GB, after waiting for 71 days! Well worth the wait. I'm enjoying my Archos 70 everyday. Listened to the first 40 chapters of Psalms this morning. Trying out the new Dolphin HD browser. I still like the stock Dolphin browser. Finally got Zeam and TagHome. I like the stock Launcher better. I'll keep Zeam and TagHome just to play around with for awhile ....

Have over 600 apps downloaded so far. Checking out a few each day. Downloading files for an offline dictionary. Have several good Bible apps. Lots of audio and video music files. Using PowerAmp mostly for the music.

Up on the Roof ...

Today I spent about two hours putting three tarps on the roof! The wind was blowing so hard, that it was nearly an impossible task! I had some heavy wood to try and hold down the tarps, but the wind was still too strong. I finally got two tarps stapled down, and the third one about half stapled, then a strong gust of wind came along and ripped the staples right out, and tore the tarp off the roof, along with the heavy pieces of wood!!!

I brought the tarp and wood back up the ladder, and finally managed to get the last tarp stapled down. Took at least an hour to get the last tarp stapled down securely.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.
One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General
asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.
You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.
You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.
And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

" We're no longer a Christian nation " America is arrogant" - (Your wife even announced to the world, "America is mean-spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)
I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a
dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.
After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."
Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another
man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.
I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected. Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.
Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of
murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now.
He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,
My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.
I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.
One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.
So here goes.
I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

Benny broke his hand last Saturday. The youth group from church went to a car bash, and got to destroy a Cadillac. Benny thought that he could break the window with his fist, and punched the window so hard that he broke his hand!

We got the x-rays taken this morning, then went back to the clinic, but they can't set the bone or put a cast on, so we have to wait for them to find a doctor that can take care of Ben's hand ....

We may end up going to Emergency tomorrow if the clinic can't get my son in to have his hand fixed up .....

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news On September 11, 2001. Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said. 'Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas, Virginia, California, Michigan, Afghanistan. I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath. Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; 'Come to Me ... this way ... take my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me. But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do ... However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are 'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Got up about 12:30 a.m. this morning. Dara and I watched for the Perseid meteors. He saw three or four and I saw five. Went back to bed around 1:30, then got up again about 4:15. Saw four more meteors. Two were very long, and greenish, one coming out of the right foot of Orion, and headed straight for the horizon. I'll be looking for more meteors tonight (Saturday morning around 1:00 a.m.).

Strange Birds ....

Just observed three strange birds flying around our area. Looks they might be either Red-tailed Hawks, or Swainson’s Hawks. The blue jays were swooping around Thomas (Frank’s cat) this morning. He batted at one of them, but missed. Thomas was creeping around in the long grass by the street. Maybe he smells more gophers ... ???

Couldn't Sleep ....

I couldn't sleep past around 10:00. Got up about midnight to get something to eat and drink. Listening to Carman, "30 Classic Hymns." I'll try to sleep a couple hours, then get up and get ready to ride over to the new house and start working on the new flower beds. Hopefully I can make at least two winter plantings.
